The*Fiat Dino*(Type 135) was afront-engine, rear-wheel-drive
sports  car produced by Fiat from 1966 to 1973. The Dino name

This gorgeous piece of Italian automotive history is presented for sale
by Historics at their November 25 2017 auction:

“Ferrari was faced with the daunting task of building 500 units per
annum to meet homologation requirements, so when it needed a two litre
production based engine for the new Formula 2 championship, they turned
to Fiat for assistance resulting in an agreement, for Fiat, to build the
Dino’s four-cam V6 engine which led to a spin-off model for Fiat. The
Fiat Dino was introduced at the Turin Motor Show in 1966 alongside the
Dino Berlinetta GT, later to become the Ferrari Dino 246. The Dino model
was built as either a Bertone designed coupé or a Spider from
Pininfarina and powered by a shared four camshaft, two litre, V6 engine,
both cars benefitted from a racing pedigree that went back to Ferrari’s
Dino 166P sports-racing unit and their 246 Grand Prix engine. The V6
engine’s capacity was increased to 2,418cc in 1969 when a ZF five-speed
gearbox and trailing-arm independent rear suspension were among many
improvements adopted. The Fiat Dino raced to 60mph in around seven
seconds and could exceed 130mph whilst making all the right
Ferrari-esque noises.

First registered on 8th January, 1969, this well turned out Dino coupé
is offered in metallic blue paintwork with black trim. It has recently
undergone a full cosmetic restoration and, as such, presents very well.
We are informed the engine was rebuilt 2,000 miles ago and was recently
recommissioned, which included tuning of the carburettors. A new exhaust
coupled with a brake overhaul has also been carried out, as has a
service in April of this year. Offered with a new MoT test certificate,
this is a very well priced example of the Fiat Dino, a car that can
rightfully claim to have a slice of Ferrari under the bonnet.”
